Meiji University Signs University-wide Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding with Hiroshima University

 

On 30th January 2009, Meiji University signed a university-wide agreement with Hiroshima University. The agreement is intended to contribute to the further development of education and research in Japan by exchanging educational and research activities comprehensively as well as strengthening collaboration between Meiji University and Hiroshima University.

Under principle of equality and mutual benefit, the agreement describe that the both universities promote cooperation, regarding exchanges of their students and faculty, collaborative projects and use of their facilities.

Since 2007, Meiji University, private university in Tokyo, and Hiroshimia University, national university in Hiroshima, have been promoting a selected project, “Formation of consortium for education integrating mathematics and life sciences”, the Support Program for Improving Graduate School Education by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). This program aims to foster creative prospective researchers in new academic field, “Mathematics and Life Sciences”. The collaboration between Meiji University and Hiroshima University developed to the Global COE Program “Formation and Development of Mathematical Sciences Based on Modeling and Analysis”, which was selected by MEXT in FY 2008. These collaborative and cooperative relationship brought to this agreement and the memorandum in order to establish an education and research center of the world standard through comprehensive cooperation.
